Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saudwas born on December 31, , in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the 25th son of King Abdulaziz ibn Saud.

His mother was Hassa Al Sudairi. Along with six of his brothers, Salman formed the so-called "Sudairi Seven."
