Why we are the Garden State
Seven hundred and fifty acres of sprawling farmland stretch across Antonio Casola Farms in Holmdel. The green fields are home to plum tomatoes, sweet potatoes, squash and more.
In the fall, families descend on the farm in masses.
Pumpkin picking and other fall festivities draw people from neighboring towns, as well as nearby states.
“People come here to spend the day,” said Kim Casola, one of the owners of Antonio Casola Farms.

“People can come here and relax with their family all day between picking pumpkins, going for a hayride and eating. They like to come out for the whole experience.”
While most Jersey farms open in May, fall has proven the prime season for agritourism.
The breezy days that come with the changing of seasons allow people to roam the farm fields and pick fresh produce for hours on end.
