    Bio:

    Born in in Cork where he attended the Cork School of Music.

    He made some recordings with Seán Ó Sé in and won the Castlebar International Song Contest the same year and subsequently toured with a band. In he represented Ireland at the Yamaha Music Festival with his own composition "Lover, Not a Wife".

    Guy Robinson (of EMI Records) was his manager. He recorded an LP for EMI in titled "Bad Boy".

    In Cathal teamed up with Stateside, becoming their lead singer. Stateside included guitarist Andreas Grimminger, who later found fame in Zerra 1!

    Cathal represented Ireland in the Eurovision in and then formed his own band The Formula, who he led until He emigrated to the USA in where he launched a successful career on the cabaret circuit, changing the spelling of his name to the more phonetically friendly Cahal Dunne.
